I Am the Bread of Life. Therefore I Will…part 2

I Am the Bread of Life. Therefore I Will…part 2

One could write a book on Christ being the bread of life. However, I will attempt to make clear a small piece.

In John Six, Jesus says to have life; you must eat His flesh and drink His blood.

John 6:53-54

New International Version

53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have ( present tense) no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has (present tense) eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

For some inexplicable reason, the scripture scholars took literally eating My flesh and drinking My blood. What, then, was Jesus saying?

John 1:1 tells us Jesus is the Word, and the Word became flesh. The Word was with God from the beginning, and the Word was God. Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh. You must eat, to be specific, ingesting the Word and drinking His blood to take in Jesus.

Jesus makes it plain that you have no life in you if you are not ingesting Him. Just as physical food is necessary to live, the requirement for eternal life becomes internalizing Jesus’ words, His mind, voice, and will.

Everyone knows life is also in the blood. No blood, no life. When you lose your blood, you lose your life. Jesus is your source of life. Eating His flesh and drinking His blood are external symbols for understanding an internal spiritual condition. When you take in Jesus, you are taking in eternal life.

Bread and blood are depicted in graphic detail (so you will take notice) what comprises Christ in you.

I Am the Bread of Life. Therefore I WILL live in you, and you WILL live in Me.

I still have more to say on this subject. Until next time.
