Loss and Gain Part-One
What did Moses, Joseph, and David have in common outside of being prominent biblical characters? Let’s take a look.
Pharaoh purposed every firstborn Hebrew male child for destruction. God had other plans. None other than the Pharaoh’s daughter herself miraculously rescued baby Moses from the waters of the Nile River. Raised in the lap of luxury as Pharaoh’s grandson, he also was in direct line to become the next Pharaoh of Egypt.
Seeing how the Egyptians mistreated his fellow Hebrews, Moses lost his temper and slew one of the culprits of Egypt. Running for his life, he spent the next forty years stripped of everything he thought was his.
From the greatest to the least, in the eyes of man, Moses became a shepherd. He lost any earthly recognition, power, and wealth to become the Almighty’s humble servant. His lowly state humbled him to the point of mistrusting himself. It was only then that Moses was ready to be called to greatness.
Stay faithful when everything seems upside down and you seemingly have nothing to cling to; rejoice. God has a plan.
