Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7
When God created the world, He spoke, and light illuminated the earth. He spoke, and animals, trees, fish, and flowers had their beginning. When God created man, something entirely different than words came into play. The bible didn’t record any sound in connection to the creation of the human being; God breathed man into existence. The Lord God breathed His life into Adam, and Adam became a vessel of God carrying life’s respiration to the world.
Why would Adam be any different than the rest of all things living?
In God’s foreknowledge, He was preparing for the fall of man. He had a plan that reached from the day of Adam to the day believers become born again.
The breath of God came from God, and that breath was eternal.
Man’s envisioned life He intended to be endless. To bring that about, fallen human beings must be born again. In that process, eternal life becomes possible once more. Everlasting life begins with rebirth.
The born-again follower of Christ now breaths life, not death. They carry within them evidence of eternal life in contrast to those who have the spirit of death. When God saw the darkness coming, He needed a living statement, a bold testimony, whose presence demonstrates life and light. And He chose you.
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
