When Overwhelmed
The temptation to give in to doubt is overwhelming. Without notice, the storm of uncertainty rushes over us to envelope and test our faith. We cannot see the answer, we do not hear the answer, nor can we find a single open door. We feel trapped and alone. Discouragement has an open invitation to set up shop.
Psalm 34:17-18 The Message
17 Is anyone crying for help? God is listening,
ready to rescue you.
18 If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there;
if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.
The next step is to turn to what Jesus has taught us. Each pledge He gave will build our trust and calm our Spirit. We must study the promised word and claim it as ours.
So, what does this promise tell us?
God is listening
God will rescue
God is present
God comforts
He gives His word to get us through whatever circumstance we are experiencing. Let us rest on that truth.
