Joy
Joy
I find authentic and lasting joy is a result of living outside of myself — a life of living for the good of others. Being sensitive to God’s directives for today fills my life with meaning.
The freedom from being self-absorbed in my thoughts, wants, and desires will come while communing with a selfless God. From sacred communion springs an inner joy that moves me away from a preoccupation with my wants. I am then amiable to be used by God’s Spirit to fulfill the needs of others.
This way of living not only brings joy but becomes the purpose of my life.
Psalm 28:7
7The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
