A God Appointment

A God Appointment

Lately, I have been honored by several God appointments. Unexpected, not arranged for, or planned by me incidents for the glory of God.

Today was no exception. Yesterday I drove right passed my intended stop. My driver’s side headlight had gone out, so I needed to stop and purchase a new bulb. Even though I was irritated with myself for not stopping, I went on home.

Today, I also passed the auto parts store, but I was urged to turn around and go back this time. It was still five minutes before opening, so I waited by listening to the Christian radio station. I was the only customer at the time. The older gentleman who waited on me asked how my day was going, to which I responded with what has become my most regular response. “I am blessed,” I said but went on with, “because I am blessed, circumstances don’t control my life. No matter what is happening, I am still blessed.” The clerk looked at me and said, “thank you, I needed to hear those words.”

By the tone of his voice, I could tell he was going through a difficult time, and God sent me to tell him what he needed to hear. He thanked me once again, using my first name as if we were friends, as I left. I added, “God bless you,” as the transaction was completed.

Never think our words carry little weight. God uses our words to plant seeds, water seeds, or pull weeds that hinder life’s growth.
We are blessed enough to say we are, so others may partake in its splendor.
