Prince of Peace
Winsome in his ways the evil spirit lurks inside and outside of your awareness. He tells stories of your unfulfilled attempts at selfless deeds for the King. “Come out to play,” he coaxes as he holds your attention with his array of plumes and costumes. Charades is a game he cunningly practices.
The clerical guise of the enemy is reminding you of your to-do-list, errands to run, and your need to plan dinner. Later he shows up with a truckload of guilt to dump on you. Then he comes with a pile of shame, and a ton of unworthiness too heavy for your heart to carry.
You fall into a heap of despair because the messages in your head have deterred you from communion with the Father of strength. You weep in exhaustion.
Unnoticed until now, another voice is speaking. It is soft and gentle in tone but carries with it absolute authority. It is the Prince Himself with a personal message. “Meet with me in a quiet place away from distractions; give me your full attention, and I will give you the peace you desire.”
A silly fairytale or a truth? You must decide, for two voices are speaking. The one is bent on bringing you to ruin, and the other is calling you away from counterfeit enticements to a blessed and glorious union with an all-powerful God. Jesus Christ, the Prince of peace, is calling you out of the chaos of this world to a new place prepared for you from the beginning.
Stand firm in your resolve to follow the Majesty of the universe, and He will raise you to a place of honor.

57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.
