The Promise of Success
What if God willed you every tool to master life’s problems? What if He guaranteed your success?
To illustrate, the most profoundly respected professor the earth has known comes to you with a proposal. “Let me have four years of your time, and I will teach you everything you must learn to be a success. I am available twenty-four hours a day; the course is free, and I have already taken the final test for you and passed without a mistake.”
“Your future is secured if”…
“There is just one aspect I must tell you. The class isn’t easy. There are those who wish to distract you, discourage you, and do everything to dissuade you from finishing the course. However, if your focus is on me and not the world around you, when you have completed the time of learning, the reward is beyond imagination’s dreams.
“We will spend our time together through delight and anguish, peaks of grandeur and depths of suffering. Not withstanding the hardships, we will become one with the promise of success. If this is your inclination, we can start today.”
If you had this kind of opportunity, four years of concentration is a small sacrifice for a guaranteed life of brilliance. Jesus asks us for seventy to ninety years of our lives here on earth for a perfect eternity. It seems a clear decision, but most opt for a few years of uncertainty and chaos while losing out on the grandest reward ever given to humanity.
Only one thing remains to do.
Today, accept the greatest promise of success given to man with no ifs, ands, or buts.
Hebrews 4:7
7 God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”
