With no possibility of a child of our own, we faced a dilemma. Should we have children by adoption or no children? It wasn’t complete, our little family, without a child to love, cherish, and watch grow up into what God had in store for our little one. We adopted. I earnestly prayed as I walked at night, pleading with God to watch over who he or she may be.

Engage your imagination and picture a scene where Jesus addresses His Father with a suggestion. “Let’s create a human being; a person who looks like us and talks like us so we can communicate and be a family. They will be in perfect in symmetry with each other having the ability to produce offspring of their own.” As the Father listens to the passion in Jesus’ voice, He smiles, “LET’S DO IT!”

Can you see the tender regard the Godhead has as they watch over each one of you, their kids? Even to the point of counting every hair on your head! You are the focus of the universe. When Adam and Eve chose the forbidden fruit, it damaged the purity and integrity of all their future offspring. What would happen next? God immediately flew into action to deal with the situation by putting into motion the plan to rescue you from the clutches of evil. Because of the forces fighting against you God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have not taken a day off from battling for your soul. For you, the one He created because He wanted a family.

To My Adopted Children:

I wasn’t there when you first came to be,

but now you reside forever in me.

God blessed me that day and filled up my heart,

with a child not mine, but mine from the start.

On this day of your birth, if love could be told,

it would be of the love for you that I hold.
