To Know God’s Will-Day One

To Know God’s Will-Day One

The first time I watched The Wizard of Oz I vowed I would never watch it again. Why? Because it was so devastating to learn the Wizard was a fake and I very much wanted to believe in him. It was crushing to learn he  an ordinary man behind a curtain. The majority of people today view God in a similar way. A mysterious being hidden behind a curtain, who is deceives the masses.

But the God of the universe wants to reveal Himself as the one who humbled Himself into human form and sacrificed His life so we can live. Who is this God who made Himself a servant experiencing the perils of this life so we can experience the glories of His? How can we comprehend a God who became one of us and granted these degenerate people, enslaved in sin, to know Him? The invitation is yours to hear Him speak, know His will. Jesus wills to be one with us as He is with the Father, (John: 17). God is actively working to achieve your entrance into the glories of heaven.

There is a cost involved in this controversy. It takes the willingness to give up self in the form of pride, the need for control, and your will in place of God’s.

To know God’s will:

1. To accept He wants you to know Him and His will.
2. To believe the Father’s plan to save you from the devil’s lies, from the results of sin, and from your evil desires.

2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

1 Timothy 2:3-4
3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
