Hearing God
Day one of a five-day series on hearing God’s voice
CAN’T HEAR GOD’S VOICE? TURN THE MUSIC DOWN!

What I noticed whenever God gave me a message was the silence. I was away in the country, house-sitting where the calming strains of nature’s refrain set the ambiance for a speaking God. In stillness, the melody of His voice
overcomes the chaos. It is here in moments of meditation He shares His aims and purposes for you. Turn the irritating commotion of a harsh-clanging world to mute. Sit awhile; inhale the tranquility for more than seconds. Let your thoughts ascend into the starlit night as it proclaims the glory of God’s universe. Listen to the cricket’s falsetto voice contrasting the bass renditions of the toad, or the celestial songs of birds saluting the dawn.

You get the picture. Find your spot away from phones ringing, the TV blaring and people chatting. Make it your place, your time to invest with your best friend with nobody to interrupt. In these private moments open your mind and tune in for the answer to your challenge. In time God rewards patience; If He doesn’t respond when expected, there’s a reason.
Relish the moments of communion, and He’ll make His presence known. His timing is always best, and when you discover His voice in the garden of your mind, it’s perfect. For me, It took a while, but as I continued searching, my spirit recognized Him speaking.
From that time on, I thirst for His voice as the deer pants after the water brook.
1. Find your quiet spot away from the noise.
2. Still your mind.
Mark 6:31
“And he said to them, Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.
Lovely message! Listening for God and tuning in to His voice is vital to our every day, every moment life!! 🙂
