What keeps us bound to this world? To answer that question, we must establish there are two mindsets, a spiritual and worldly points of view.
The spiritual mind focuses on God and His ways. The world’s approach to life is most familiar. Its focus is on external things, and because we live here, many become attached as if they belong and making plans to stay.
I could list the pitfalls of earthly living, but to identify these takes an honest look at self. The spiritual mind follows where the spirit leads, priorities being God first and everything else after. That’s right, God first, before careers, acquiring possessions, or relationships. We live as if this is our final destination. We give God the leftovers of time, abilities and means, hoping it will be enough.
Contemplate the reason God created mankind. He created us in the image of God for communion with God. When Adam and Eve broke that communion Jesus came to win us back. To reestablish a full and open relationship with Himself; to bring home everyone willing. Doesn’t it make sense to start packing? Today may not be moving day, but it’s definitely preparation day.
Lead me Father to the truth about myself and what you need to do in my life to make me ready when moving day arrives. Amen
Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD Until He comes to rain righteousness on you.
“Be dressed in readiness and keep your lamps lit.
Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.
