Day breaks over the distant hills with strokes of pink and lavender across the waking sky. The first rays of sun burst forth with brilliant golden streams upon the meadows glistening dew.
The picture developing before my eyes takes my breath away. Even the grazing mare raises her head to inhale the fragrance of a new Spring morning.
The screen door off the back porch of the small farmhouse opens and shuts with a bang. The sharp sound catches the mare’s ear. Breakfast time. And just like that, the day begins.
Observe, acknowledge the beautiful. Grip firmly each moment of life as if there were no other. Let nature be the voice of God to your soul.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. 12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
Isaiah 35 The Message (MSG)
35 1-2 Wilderness and desert will sing joyously,
the badlands will celebrate and flower—
Like the crocus in spring, bursting into blossom,
a symphony of song and color.
Mountain glories of Lebanon—a gift.
Awesome Carmel, stunning Sharon—gifts.
God’s resplendent glory, fully on display.
God awesome, God majestic.
