Victory At Last
May all of your battles be the Lords.
I could see him out of the corner of my eye. I knew why he was making his way toward me and I knew the results. I wanted to stop him, but I was powerless against his strength. I tried to shut the door before he could get in, but my feeble endeavors were mocked and quite humorous to him. An enemy I didn’t even want near me had invaded my space and encouraged me to try and fight him. My prayers seemed to fall meaningless to the floor. Here I was, at the bottom of a pit.
Have you ever experienced the devastation that being enslaved in sin causes? Don’t try to qualify which sins are worse than others because a sin is a sin, they all bring about the same result.
I used to tell God, “if I don’t quit I can’t lose. You can’t reject me if I don’t quit.” I didn’t realize if I don’t quit, I can’t win. There will be no victory when trying to fight the devil.
I finally said to God, “I quit! I’m not even going to try to stop. If you want this out of my life, you are going to have to take the responsibility because I’m through.” At that moment, my life changed. Glorious peace and freedom were mine at last!
There is no shame in quitting when it is the only avenue to victory. God is good. He will fight for you. You are blessed to be in His hands.
Deuteronomy 20:4New Living Translation (NLT)
4 For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’
1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
