What Are You Expecting?
Be not among those who consistently wish for a better tomorrow and miss the abundance of today.
If you find yourself expecting the worse, but hoping for the best, there may be a distorted picture of God. When you think you are saving yourself from disappointment by anticipating the bad, you are in fact robbing yourself of what you are hoping to receive.
You look to find the negative while the intended blessing slips by without notice.
What would happen if you reversed this habit and started expecting the good and turning a deaf ear to what’s going wrong? What would happen if you began praising our Father for what He has done and is planning to do on your behalf?
Start this day expecting great and wondrous things from a God who is consistently looking to give us every good gift.
Psalm 118:14-16 NIV
14 The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.
15 Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!
16 The LORD’s right hand is lifted high; the LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!”
Isaiah 26:3 NIV
3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
