Henry And The Holy Ghost

Henry And The Holy Ghost

Seldom are blessings planned; they often come as unexpected gifts.

The last time I was house and dog sitting, the Lord gave me an unexpected blessing. There was a personal matter I was grappling with, and I found myself on my knees in prayer with tears running down my face.

I don’t know if your dog follows you wherever you go, but Henry, the Goldendoodle, makes sure He is in close proximity at all times. As he followed me into the bedroom, he stopped in his tracks when he heard me crying. He turned his woolly head and looked at me.

I know the Holy Spirit is the comforter, so I’m quite sure at that moment Henry was filled with the Holy Ghost. He changed course and came to where I was Kneeling, laid his head on me and put his paw on my arm. He knew I needed some consoling and he was there to give it to me. Needless to say, I was so surprised with this demonstration of affection I had to smile.

This incident reminded me that my tears are not only noticed by a loving Father but he sent “someone” to let me know He was there and listening.

Thank you, Jesus for being so creative with your blessings.

who comforts us in all our troubles, so

receive from God.
