Gifts For All
When you use the gifts given you, not only do they grow, they multiply.
Every day is a gift coming down from the Father of lights. Have you received your gift today?
Is it possible there are gifts just waiting for you at the break of each day? If you could choose the gifts what would they be? And my last question is, are you expecting to receive any presents from God today?
HOW VASTLY DIFFERENT YOUR LIFE WOULD BE IF YOU STOPPED TO CONSIDER YOUR DAILY GIFTS.
The first thing you do when receiving a gift is to unwrap it. Right? There is a bit of excitement about being granted something uniquely selected for you.
When the package is opened, etiquette demands a favorable response.
Maybe it’s not what you were hoping for.
or perhaps it’s the very thing you have always wanted.
We generally ask for things to satisfy our WANTS. But more often than not Jesus grants us abilities to meet the NEEDS of others. By addressing the needs of others, you find the wants you had were met.
The gifts our Father has to give are too many to count. Let’s take a look at just a few.
When you wake in the morning, do you thank the Lord for the gift of life? Everyone reading this blog has apparently been given life. Have you unwrapped that gift to see what’s inside? Look at all the intricacies of your unique self with the talents and abilities included. How awesome is that?
Then there is the gift of wisdom. This special endowment must be asked for but is willingly given to all who not only desire its acquisition but believes they possess it as soon as requested. This ability requires trusting that God means what He says.
Faith is another gift that grows directly in proportion to how much it is used just as when the muscles in your body are exercised they increase in strength. Faith operates on the same principle as the muscle.
Look for the myriad of abilities given when asked for and the beautiful gifts given without the asking. Our gracious Lord supplies all, with every means available to Him for our joy and success.
But all of them require use.
Putting this kind of gift on the shelf unused causes those influential acquisitions to stagnate and die. Just as Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed thousands, the talents He has given you He will increase for the feeding of the spiritually hungry as well as the physically hungry.
1 Peter 4:10
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (NIV)
