When The Gathering Begins
May the heartache of loss be overcome with the joy of coming reunion.
You don’t know how many times I’ve searched for you but could not find you.
I looked for you in the morning and reached for you in the darkness.
My days fill up the time with chores and doing, and I forget for a moment.
Then out of nowhere comes this stabbing of the heart and a remembrance.
Jesus is here. He stands beside me. He doesn’t take the pain away but waits.
He knows this pain. He is well acquainted with the sorrow of loss.
And then He reminds me of something that puts hope into my consciousness.
A smile begins to walk it’s way across my face, for there is a day of reunion.
On that day hallelujah will resound, pain will not be a word, forever will begin.
This very day allow your heart to construct the vision of reunion. To grieve is necessary. There is no guilt in sorrow, but you have a date to be there when the gathering begins.
Isaiah 35:10New International Version (NIV)
and those the Lord has rescued will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Psalms 30:5 …
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
